Puello holds a B.F.A. in 3D FRaised in Providence, Rhode Island, Noel Puello is a multidisciplinary artist with a B.F.A. in 3D Fiber Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and an M.F.A. in Fiber and Materials Studies from the Tyler School of Art (2019). Puello’s work is deeply rooted in her personal journey, as she thoughtfully explores the intersections of queer and Afro-Latinx identity. Through a blend of clothing construction, mixed-media installations, fiber practices, and video, she seeks to shift perceptions of intimacy and breathe new life into fantasy. Her artistic process is both rigorous and heartfelt, drawing inspiration from the enduring relationships of her Dominican elders and her own lived experiences. By focusing on the transformative power of touch and the beauty found in overlooked materials, Puello creates art that is at once professional, authentic, and relatable.
