Noel Puello, raised in Providence, Rhode Island, is a multidisciplinary artist holding a B.F.A. in 3D Fiber Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and an M.F.A. in Fiber and Materials Studies from the Tyler School of Art (2019). Her work profoundly reflects her personal journey, as she thoughtfully examines the intersections of queer and Afro-Latinx identities. Through a combination of clothing design, mixed-media installations, fiber techniques, and video, she aims to alter perceptions of intimacy and revive fantasies. Her artistic approach is both disciplined and heartfelt, inspired by her Dominican elders' enduring relationships and her own experiences. Focusing on the transformative nature of touch and the value of overlooked materials, Puello creates art that is professional, genuine, and accessible.
